About Me

I’m happiest when I’m writing.

Whether it’s fun chapter books about traveling adventurers or content for clients, I feel like I’m at my best when I put words on the page. I began writing at the age of 15, when I wanted to imitate the poetry I read in Seventeen magazine. I still have those poems. They were not good.

I am the author of eight books for young readers, as well as one of seven authors who wrote Best. Night. Ever.: A Story Told from Seven Points of View. My latest book, The Popularity Code, released in April 2020, and my next middle grade, Finding Normal, releases in Spring 2024 from Aladdin/Simon & Schuster. I’m also the author of the upcoming chapter book series Gabby Ghost Hunter, releasing from Capstone in the fall of 2023.

In addition to my books with Simon & Schuster, I also write content for a variety of businesses and marketing agencies. I cover technology, finance, and affiliate marketing content, a.k.a. product reviews. See my online portfolio here.

Prior to becoming a full-time writer, I worked in information technology for the State of Tennessee. I live in Nashville, Tennessee with my husband, a sales executive, and my adorable dog, a spaniel-terrier mix named Shelby.
